Getting From Farm to Table
We understand people want to know where their food comes from, which is why we’re committed to transparency in all we do. We believe it’s our responsibility to steward the land, animals, and resources entrusted to us and ensure we deliver the highest quality food from the farm to your table.
Our goal is to make great food that is safe and satisfying. But, it’s important that we do so responsibly. Our service technicians, veterinarians, and animal welfare specialists routinely visit farmers to ensure animals are cared for properly.
Great food comes from people who care
Great food starts with good people. Our relationships with our contract farmers are the cornerstone of our business. We’re proud to partner with over 11,000 independent farmers, some who have been successfully working with us for decades, and in some cases, for generations. We rely on them and work closely with them to provide healthy chicken, cattle and hogs that have been treated properly and raised with modern, proven animal care practices.
Chicken
To ensure healthy, high-quality chickens, we start by hatching them in our own hatcheries. We then provide independent family farmers the nutrient-rich feed they need to raise the chickens.
Livestock
We work with feedlots that finish raising our livestock to make sure the animals are healthy, cared for properly, and grown to the appropriate weight and age.
Processing & distribution
Our plants throughout the U.S. produce 1 in 5 pounds of all chicken, beef, and pork in the U.S. Our ability to get meat from farm to table quickly and safely is part of what differentiates Tyson Foods from the rest. We have our own distribution system with a vast network of distribution centers, warehouses, and drivers who can quickly get product to our customers. In fact, Tyson Foods has one of the largest cold-chain distribution networks in the industry. Combined with our scale, our distribution network is a key differentiator, ensuring we can deliver fresh product quickly and safely.
Restaurants and foodservice
We are the leading protein provider to many national restaurant chains, including quick service, casual, mid-scale, and fine dining restaurants. We also make great food for a variety of foodservice customers, including international customers, schools, military bases, hospitals, and nursing homes.
Retail
With some of the most recognized brands on grocery store shelves today — including Tyson®, Jimmy Dean®, Hillshire Farm®, Ball Park®, Wright Brand®, Aidells®, and State Fair® — we’re proud to offer retail products to satisfy a variety of palettes and priorities.
We’re honored to have a seat at your table
Every day, our team members work together with independent farmers, suppliers, retailers, restaurateurs, and other foodservice partners for one goal: to feed the world with trusted food products. When people gather around the table, there’s a good chance part of their meal came from us. For that, we say, “thank you.”
