Springdale, Ark. — June 27, 2016 — Food Logistics, a publication exclusively dedicated to covering the global food supply chain, has named Tyson Foods, Inc. as a Top Green Provider for 2016.
Food Logistics’ annual Top Green Providers list recognizes companies whose products, services, or exemplary leadership is enhancing sustainability within the food and beverage industry. The list offers logistics professionals a guide to the suppliers, manufacturers, and software and technology companies that have found new ways to promote sustainability.
Tyson Foods is being recognized for efforts to minimize its environmental impact with initiatives designed to reduce truck miles, such as installing ultra-light equipment, using direct ship to customers, and partnering with rail carriers. Sowinski, editorial director, supply chain network, at AC Business Media. “Our industry’s continued focus on environmental stewardship and the role that growers, manufacturers, logistics companies, retailers and others play is driving heightened awareness and actions aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions while simultaneously boosting cost and energy efficiencies.”
“At Tyson Foods, we are committed to respecting and conserving the environment and natural resources we depend on to run our business, said Kyle Neely, senior vice president of distribution for Tyson Foods, Inc. “Environmental stewardship is part of our company Core Values, and we are proud to be recognized as a Top Green Provider for 2016 by Food Logistics.”
